Judging at 10.30am
Winners announced at 11am Stewart’s Hall and over the tannoy in the Square.

How to enter

Present 4 scones for judging. Put your name, address and phone number into a sealed envelope with your entry.

Be as creative as you like! Fruity, nutty, spicy – anything goes!

Everyone welcome with no age limit.

08.30 – Registration opens at The Gordon Schools
10.00 – Half Marathon Start
10.10 – Cat 1 Wee Shortie (5-6yo) – 300m
10.20 – Cat 2 Wee Shortie (7-9yo) – 600m
10.30 – Cat 3 Wee Shortie (10-12yo) – 1,200m
10.45 – Warm Up for 5km (Warm Up Stage)
11.00 – 5k Start at the Police Station (Castle Street)
11.30 – Warm Up for 10km (Warm Up Stage)
12.00 – 10km Start at the Police Station (Castle Street)
12.30 – Presentation of 5k winner and runners up (Town Square)
13.00 – Presentation of Half Marathon and 10km winner and runners up (Town Square)

Directions from all road entry points and Huntly Train Station

Approaching the Hairst from Aberdeenshire; On the A96 follow signs for Huntly, at the Asda roundabout turn right into Huntly and follow directions below to parking.

Approaching the Hairst from Moray; On the A96 follow signs for Huntly, turn left just before Tesco onto the A920 and follow directions to your choice of parking. Otherwise continue on to the Asda roundabout and follow parking instructions from there.

Approaching Hairst from Portsoy; Follow the B9022 until a signpost for a left turn to Huntly, on reaching the junction turn left again and follow instruction below for parking opportunities. Otherwise at the junction turn right then first left to park in Tesco carpark.

Approaching Huntly from the Train Station; On arrival at Huntly Train Station, supported by trains from both Aberdeen and Inverness. Follow the path to the bottom of the station, turn left and walk over the bridge. Follow this path straight up to the top of the hill where you will find the Hairst.

Road closures on the day, from 06:00-17:00;

  • Deveron St; From Meadow Street to Huntly Square
  • Castle Street; Huntly Square to Westpark and Eastpark street, no access from McVeagh Street
  • Gordon Street; Huntly Square to Nelson Street and Granary Street
  • Richmond Lane; From Gordon Street to Granary Street, accept for access to The Bank of Scotland
  • Duke Street; Huntly Square to Church Street

Parking at the Hairst

Designated Hairst Parking

Market Muir Playing Field – AB54 8JY – Leave the A96 at the Asda roundabout, drive towards Huntly centre, before you get to the first junction the parking is on the left hand side. There will be marshals here to help with parking cars, suggested donation £2 per car. This carpark will only be open if it is dry. There is also a small car park on the right hand side, turning just before the Market Muir.

Huntly Business Centre – AB54 8FG – Leave the A96 at the Asda roundabout, drive towards Huntly centre, drive over the first junction, pass Café India on your left and the parking is on your left.

Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd – AB54 8HP – Leave the A96 at the Asda roundabout, drive towards Huntly centre, at the first junction turn left, follow the road around a bend onto King St, parking is on the left 50m ahead. This car park will be locked at 5pm.

Tesco Superstore – AB54 8TS – Leave the A96 at the turning of A920 to Huntly, first right, take the second exit off the roundabout and follow the road around into the carpark.

Designated Disabled Parking Only – Nelson St Car Park – AB54 8DE – Leave the A96 at the Asda roundabout, drive ahead towards Huntly centre, drive over the first junction, continue into the town along Gordon Street, before reaching the Square there is a left turn onto Nelson St, the car park is first left and is signposted.

Designated Room to Run Parking

If you are taking part in one of the Room to Run races you have been sent an email specifying designated areas to park in Huntly, please follow these to ensure you reach your races in time for registration. All details on the Room to Run website www.roomtorun.uk . If your family is travelling separately we ask that they use the Huntly Hairst parking.
