In 2002, Deveron Arts organised a special Halloween festival in Huntly. The festival ran over a number of days at the end of October, bringing artists and community together to celebrate the ancient Scottish traditions.

Since then, this Halloween festival has grown into HAIRST, a unique annual Harvest festival taking place in Huntly. This family event celebrates the food and traditions of Aberdeenshire. It has something for everyone, from the legendary Halloween parade to the Best Stovies in the World competition.

2009 saw HAIRST festival develop into a full Harvest season, which kicked off at the start of September with the very successful Food and Farming Festival. HAIRST ended with Halloween in Huntly, which ran from the 31st of October until the 8th of November.

Huntly is in Aberdeenshire, which is in the North East of Scotland. It is easy to access Huntly - with good bus and train routes. It is also just off the A96, if you are driving. At the moment Scotrail is running a deal with Sainsburys that allows you to travel £15 return to Huntly from anywhere in Scotland! For cheap train travel to the HAIRST click HERE!
